Canopy’s Collection and Use of Personally Identifiable Information

"Personally identifiable information" is information that can be used to identify you as an individual. Personally identifiable information includes your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, user ID, credit card numbers, social security number, and any other information that is connected with you personally.

The only time Canopy collects personal information, is when we have first expressly asked for the information and then you have voluntarily provided it.  There are a few sections of the site were you are asked to supply us with certain information to proceed, including an ID, employee #, email, etc…  However, it is always the users choice to provide any of this information to Canopy.  If you have volunteered your information, you have agreed to allow Canopy to collect and use your personally identifiable information as described in this Privacy Policy.

In some circumstances, Canopy may share information you voluntarily provide us with trusted business partners, to help increase the services we offer our customers and/or our internal effectiveness.  However, Canopy does not sell or rent personal information collected through this site to anyone.  Canopy may also disclose information in special cases or when necessary:  to comply with applicable laws or processes; protect and defend our rights or property; or act to protect the interests of our users or others.

Protecting Your Information

Canopy exercises commercially reasonable care in protecting your personally identifiable information.  This includes, among other things, using industry standard protection techniques like firewalls and encryption.

Unfortunately, the Internet is not 100% secure.  As a result, while Canopy endeavors to protect your personally identifiable information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or receive from us.  This is especially true for information you transmit to us via e-mail, where we have no means of protecting the contained information until it reaches us.  Once Canopy receives your transmission, we undertake commercially reasonable efforts to ensure its security on our servers.
